Villa Voltaire is located in southern France in the heart of the Provence region between Avignon and Apt, inside the Calavon valley at the foot of the Luberon mountains. It is a uniquely beautiful site, with panoramic, 360 degree views, framed by 500-800 year-old olive trees and with sculpturally gnarled trunks.

The manor house has foundations dating back to 1740 and has been extended and updated over time. Renovations in the traditional style (stone walls) have taken into account its historic background.

The house is surrounded by agricultural land and sits in the midst of a spacious, ornamental garden containing fruit trees, truffle oaks, culinary herbs, roses, lavender, a playground and a shaded area.

Villa Voltaire is a beautiful place to enjoy the Provence and the Luberon region with its unspoilt scenery, the colours of the sunset after the mistral wind has blown during the day, the clean air, the dry heat in summer time, the fields of lavender, sunflowers and the poppies in the cornfields.

The Villa has the perfect location to reach easily the most interesting cities like Avignon, Nice, Marseille, Saint-Tropez, Grasse in the Provence. It takes a day trip or a half day trip to visit these places..

Technical description of the Villa

Ground floor:

On the ground floor there is a lounge with bar and French windows looking towards the swimming pool. Here you have a direct access to the terrace and the pool.
Upstairs there is a spacious dining room with a large table (for up to 14 persons), direct access to the patio with a covered dining area with barbecue suitable also for up to 14 persons.
From the dining room you first reach the vaulted main kitchen, with 2 refrigerators, 4 ovens, microwave and steamer. There is also the preparation kitchen in a vaulted cellar with 5 refrigerators, 2 dishwashers, an old washing trough and a central preparation table. The vaulted, cooled and humified wine cellar with Eurocave system follows.

First floor:

Upstairs you can find four bedrooms. The first bedroom with double bed offers an en suite bathroom with separate toilette, separate shower and a separate bathtub as well as a separate dressing area.
The second bedroom is connected to the first one and is also equipped with a double bed and an en suite bathroom with separate toilette, separate shower and a separate bathtub as well as a separate dressing and seating area with flat screen and SAT-TV.

Furthermore, on the second floor you can find an Internet corner with two computers and one printer as well as a guest and a games and TV-room.
Besides these, you can find bedroom number three and four: both of them with a double bed and an en suite bathroom with separate toilette, separate shower and a separate bathtub as well as a separate dressing and seating area with flat screen and SAT-TV. One of them gives also access to a large covered terrace (70 m2).

Second floor:
On the second floor there is bedroom number five with double bed and an en suite bathroom with separate toilette, separate shower and a separate bathtub as well as a separate dressing and a large covered terrace.

The sixth bedroom with double bed contains an en suite bathroom with separate toilette, separate shower and a separate bathtub as well as a separate dressing and a semi-covered terrace.

The whole house is equipped with a passenger lift.
The simple and classic furnishing fits perfectly to the building.

Basement:

In the basement you can find a laundry room with two laundry towers (washing machine and tumble dryer) and three garages, whereas one of them is used as equipment room by the caretaker.
Furthermore there is a Hamam and a nice whirlpool, two separate toilets, one shower and a bedroom with double bed.

Garden and swimming pool:

Orchard, petanque court, wrought iron quiet corner with bamboo roof.
Culinary herb garden, with aromatic plants and roses, bamboo-covered breakfast nook and a truffle-oak garden. Courtyard with guest parking.

18x6 m swimming pool, heated by underground heat exchanger and covered/protected by a roll-out cover. It is edged with rounded-off stone blocks and surrounded by a green lawn.
The garden surrounding the swimming pool contains very old olive trees.

Hot and cold water supplied by 7 bore holes with 2 reversible heat pumps.
120-meter bore hole to pump up water for irrigation.
Programmable Bus system for interior, switches, plugs, alarm, etc.
