Villa Gioconda is located on the hills that divide the Casentino valley from Chianti. Florence, Arezzo and Siena are in reasonable distances. It is a perfect base to experience and explore the Tuscan countryside.
Now restored to perfection, the villa was a traditional 19th century Tuscan farmhouse, completely surrounded by a fenced and beautiful park. The building offers a lot of space to guests and their children to enjoy themselves and relax in peace and tranquillity. The heated pool, offers breath taking views of the surrounding hills, it can be used for a romantic after dinner swim or an out of season dip!
Every aspect of the interior of the house has been restored with taste and care to make your stay more comfortable. All the suites and rooms are furnished with ancient furniture, old-masters or modern paintings, each room is individual.
The villa has 6 bedrooms (4 with double beds and 2 with singles) and offers place for up to 14 people. Each bedroom is unique, the main bedroom has a beautiful 4 poster bed and a warm wood beam ceiling.
The main living has an original antique fireplace, just like the ones used to cook dinner and lunch in the old days. This room is very characteristic of the rustic Tuscan style, with the stone walls, large beam ceilings and a terracotta floor.
The kitchen is fully equipped with modern amenities - including a dishwasher and a washing machine, here you can find all you need to prepare your first Italian meal! If you don’t want to leave the villa to buy bread or pastry for breakfast that’s no problem! Every day an excellent baker can arrive by van with your breakfast needs! (please ask about this option).
There is also a huge covered terrace, suitable for the breakfast time or to spend the evenings together tasting some good wine. To select your wine visit the fully stocked wine cellar on the ground floor (the cellar contains: Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino, Nobile di Montepulciano, Pro-secco and other special brands of red and white wines).
In the big private garden you can practice shots in the golf practice area.
This valley is a great place for mountain bikers or to visit local old villages, castles and monasteries. The house is fully equipped with a telephone line, Internet, DVD player and there is a SAT-TV with several English channels.
The Villa is divided as following:
At the first floor there is a living room with fierplace and direct access to a rooved terrace with dining table. For the terrace there are steps, leading directly into the garden. Further more there is a well equipped kitchen, also with direct access to this terrace. Finally there is a double bedroom with 2 single beds and own bathroom with shower and a double bedroom with double bed and own bath with WC. Next door on the floor there is another bathroom with bathtub.
All the other bedrooms of the Villa have their own direct access and are at the ground floor of the Villa - not directly connected with the first floor inside. There are 2 double bedroom with double bed with shower, a double bedroom with 2 single bed (which can be connected) with own bathroom with shower, another Suite with double bed and a bedcouch for other 2 persons and a bathroom with shower,
There is a big garden and a pool, which is 5x10 metres large. Further more there is a wellness area, about 30 metres distant from the Villa in the garden with treadmill, turkish steambath and a whirlpool for 4 persons.
the owners are very friendly and do their best to give an outstanding service to the guests. Breakfast and a chef can be ordered on demand. The pool is heated.
So this beautiful Villa is a beautiful place to combine culture and relaxation in Tuscany.
