Villa Caterina is a Luxury villa on the hills of Ambra, at the doors of Chianti.
It is a romantic Tuscan rental in a large property among vineyards and olive groves, originally a
recently renovated historic farmhouse, decorated with elegance and traditional Tuscan furniture.
All original characteristics of the Tuscan architecture have been preserved.
The medieval town of Ambra is about 10 minutes drive distant. Here you find kind of shops, pharmacy, gas station, groceries and a street market once a week. Within 1 hour drive you can reach Siena, Arezzo or Florence. Ambra is at the doors of the Chianti and its wineries, only 30 minutes drive.
Villa Caterina is an antique Tuscan farmhouse recently renovated, preserving all its original characteristics: the thick stone walls, the original fireplaces, the wooden beamed ceilings and the bricked archways have all been preserved. The villa has been carefully furnished with original Tuscan antiques like wrought iron beds, massive wooden wardrobes and tables. Every single detail has been recalled, like handmade needlework curtains and linen, paintings and other objects that remember the classic Tuscan style.
The villa is immersed in a large property that produces organic extra virgin olive oil and wine. The owner is very proud of his production and will let you taste it. Located on the top of a hill, there is an amazing view over the Arno valley. The villa is completely secluded, with a panoramic swimming pool surrounded by a completely fenced-in green park. You will have the opportunity to taste local products, including fresh vegetables from the organic vegetable garden.
The private swimming pool is located in a panoramic position surrounded by olive groves and offers a breathtaking view. A stone terrace around the pool will make your sunbaths very comfortable and clean. The pool area has sun-beds, deck chairs and sun umbrella at your disposal. The place is absolutely secluded and you will enjoy complete privacy.
The Villa is equipped with barbecue, SAT TV and DVD, dishwasher and washing machine.
The ground floor
The living area is divided in three environments where to seat for a glass of Chianti wine and chat with friends or family by the fireplace in a really fascinating atmosphere. Two French doors open directly to the front patio, where tables and chairs are available for outdoor meals, appetizers or a barbecue party by the pool.
The large arched door opens to the kitchen that is fully equipped with a professional 6 burner stove and electric oven, an American style refrigerator and freezer, original stone sink from the last century, dishwasher, American coffee maker, toaster and a brand new set of cookware and table ware necessary for all kinds of menus. The counter in the centre works as an eating table as well as the place for a cooking demonstration in the villa (upon request).
Behind the kitchen you have a splendid dining room in warm colours with open fireplace, flat screen SAT TV and DVD. The massive wooden table and antique style chairs seat the whole group together, up to 8 people.
On the ground floor you have a guest bathroom decorated with a charming original stone sink and hand painted ceramic plates on the wall. This bathroom has a WC, sink and bidet and a washing machine.
An external stone staircase leads you to a cosy balcony with a breathtaking view over the green rolling hills, a nice place where to seat with a nice bottle of Prosecco (the sparkling white wine) or a book to relax looking at the sunset. Insides there is also a wooden staircase up to the first floor, both will take you to a another living room that used to be the old kitchen, with the original perfect working open fireplace.
The first floor
All 4 bedrooms stay on the first floor. Each bedroom is furnished with a queen size double bed and antique wooden pieces of furniture and paintings made by the owner’s daughter, an art student in Florence.
Both rose bedrooms, each one with an original wrought iron double bed, share the rose bathroom, fully equipped with a shower box, WC, bidet and sink.
On the left side, you have the blue bedroom, with en-suite bathroom fully equipped with a brand new shower box, sink, WC and bidet.
The green bedroom is the largest one, furnished with an elegant massive wooden double bed, two original Tuscan style wooden wardrobes and en-suite bathroom with shower, WC, sink and bidet. All bedrooms have large windows, overlooking the green Tuscan hillside.
The owners live in another house next to the Villa and take good care for the property. They will respect you privacy, but also be at your service, if you need advice or help.
